Steve,

I listened to your May 2009 talk at UC Berkeley and I'm curious about iTunes, specifically the processor intensity (speed) and the store search function; why are they so awful? If the concept is to take the engineering aspect out of the user experience, why make it so difficult to search for things at the store? Google's right down the street; give them a call. It means more sales, eh? Just ask the other Steve ;-) Also, why is it so damn slow? Of all the programs I run, it's the slowest by far. Your pride in creating things that were more simple and less wasteful is well earned, to hear the aforementioned talk, how did you let it happen that iTunes is such a 'dog' performer, that it is so processor intensive and clunky?
