expand_less I learned a lot at Vision. Not all of it was pretty. Too often in the context of resumes and job applications, people only want to talk about the rosy picture. Sometimes lessons learned from the other side are just as important. Here are a few.
Vision failed to install UniFirst:
After all the hard work in the prospect development and presentation to win over executive decision-makers, Vision's CEO, the son of the founder, missed the deadline given to us to install at the Aurora plant. UniFirst had other priorities and the deal got lost in the shuffle. I left shortly thereafter, in no small part due to some of the other challenges, many of them cultural.
Vision was the first workplace I worked in where I heard racial slurs bandied about and mysogeny was par for the course with the grizzled old man and brains behind the operation.
