X-Lint 60 second pitch
Every year, Americans spend more than 7 Billion Dollars, just drying our clothes.
The patent-pending “X-Lint” attaches to a dryer filter and spins, brushing against the filter, throughout the dryer cycle, removing lint from its path. (prototype passed to judges)
Clogged dryer filters reduce airflow and increase drying times. By preventing lint buildup, X-Lint provides a path of least resistance for the air and reduces drying times and the chance of a dryer fire.
There are ~93M HH dryers in the US. Reducing their energy consumption by 30% means an annual savings of ~$35-$70 per household and about 81 hours of waiting time.
Most utilities offer rebates for customers who buy CFLs and other energy efficient devices like the X-Lint.
Many also work directly with retail partners to subsidize the cost to the consumer. For them, the X-Lint represents 1.8 billion kWh at 10% market penetration: more than 1.2 million tons of CO2 emissions avoided, annually.
