Opportunity in gamification - water interface that rewards in categories:

After you've established your baseline, go ahead and record actions you take to make a difference 

embodied water -

  • Buy a pair of jeans from a company with progressive water policies like Patagonia or Levi's 
  • If you decide to be vegetarian or vegan b/c of the environmental impacts, this is a great chance to help understand and expand your influence by virtue of collaborating with others (possibly aggregate through existing gamification engines?)

 

direct water -

  • skip a shower or use a bucket to collect greywater, you scofflaw, you: 2 points! 
  • Xeriscape your lawn: 50 points!
  • If it's yellow, let it mellow -- skip a flush: 2 points!
  • Install a low-flow shower head
